What is BPC-157 + TB-500?
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid fragment (GEPPPGKPADDAGLV) of a protein sequence identified in human gastric juice. TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the actin-binding region (LKKTETQ) of thymosin β4. The Body Pharm pen supplies the two as a combined blend.
What is it studied for in the laboratory?
BPC-157 is studied in preclinical models of angiogenesis, fibroblast migration and gastrointestinal cytoprotection. TB-500 and thymosin β4 are studied for actin sequestration, cell migration and modulation of inflammatory signalling. The pair is used together where a protocol needs both an angiogenic arm and an actin-regulation arm.
Mechanism
BPC-157 has been reported to modulate VEGFR2 expression and the nitric-oxide system in vitro and in preclinical models. Thymosin β4 sequesters G-actin via its LKKTET motif, regulating actin polymerisation and downstream cell-motility signalling.
